Tyler Marincov has big night in Snappers win
BELOIT—Tyler Marincov fell a double shy of hitting for the cycle for the Beloit Snappers and had two RBI in a 5-4 Midwest League victory over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Sunday.
The Snappers trailed 3-0 in the fourth inning before Marincov hit a solo home run, his 12th of the season. First baseman B.A. Vollmuth followed that up with a home run of his own to pull Beloit to within a run.
Beloit tied the game in the fifth before Bowling Green reclaimed its advantage in the top of the sixth. Then Marincov struck again.
After Luis Baez drew a walk in front of him, Marincov hit his triple to center field to bring him home for his second RBI. Vollmuth then hit a sacrifice fly to give the Snappers the lead for good.
The two teams play again at 2 p.m. today at Pohlman Field in Beloit.
