Conservation and environmental groups endorse Spreitzer
BELOIT—The Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters and the Clean Wisconsin Action Fund endorsed Mark Spreitzer in his campaign to succeed Rep. Janis Ringhand, D-Evansville, in the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 45th District.
The league is dedicated to electing conservation leaders and encouraging lawmakers to champion conservation policies that protect the state's natural resources and public health, according to a news release.
The action fund helps elect candidates who support a pro-environment agenda, including clean energy, water, air and energy efficiency, according to the release.
Spreitzer faces fellow Beloit City Council member Sheila De Forest in the Democratic primary for the 45th District on Aug. 12.
Ringhand is vacating the seat to run for the 15th Senate District.
