Richard "Dick" Frank Kropacek, Delavan, WI (1926-2014)

Richard (Dick) Frank Kropacek, 88, longtime Delavan area farmer, died at Rosewood Manor in Delavan, on Sunday, July 13, 2014. After a long battle with Alzheimer's and Cancer, Jesus welcomed Richard to his eternal home in heaven with his arms wide open. Richard was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank Kropacek and Bessie Marcek. He married Polly Hosek Sept. 15, 1951, in Riverside, IL. Richard was a World War II Navy veteran. He had a nearly 30 year career as a police officer in North Riverside, IL, before retiring to become a farmer in 1977. He enjoyed farming until the early 2000's. Richard was a Charter member of the VFW, member of the American Legion, member of the Farm Bureau and a member of the National Patrolman's Association. He was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Polly; son, Richard (Debbie) Kropacek of Delavan; a daughter, Cindey (Ben) Nelson of East Troy; son, Frank (Barb) Kropacek of Delavan; and son, David (Sandy) Kropacek of Blaine, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Rosewood Manor for their loving care. They would also like to thank Hospice Advantage and the wonderful aides, and nurses who also helped care for Dick. Thanks again Rosewood Manor and Hospice Advantage for your compassionate care it will never be forgotten.
Services will be held at ST. ANDREWS CATHOLIC CHURCH on Monday, July 21st. Visitation from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with Mass at 2 p.m. followed by a military burial.
