Errors continue to haunt Janesville's American Legion baseball team.

Post 205 had three more miscues Wednesday night in a 5-3 loss to Genoa City.

Janesville fell to 18-12 in losing its second straight.

“That's nine errors in the last two games,” Janesville coach Bob Schenck said. “We're not going to beat anybody kicking the ball around. Plus, we had some mental errors and missed a couple of signs.

“We've got one more tournament this weekend in Plover before the regional tournament next week. We have to play much better if we're going to give ourselves a chance to play at state.”

Post 205 led 3-1 in the third inning, but Genoa City scored twice in the bottom of the inning to tie the game and won the game with two unearned runs in the sixth.

Will Theisen had two of Janesville's four hits. Both were doubles.

“We just didn't execute and didn't get the two-out RBI that we needed,” Schenck said. “And when you throw in a couple of big errors and four wild pitches, that's a bad combination.”

Janesville plays Manitowoc and host Plover in games Friday at the Dan Schlutter Central Wisconsin Classic.
