Cops and Bobbers slates its second outing for Evansville

EVANSVILLE—Parents can sign their children up for the second Rock County Sheriff's Office Cops and Bobbers event, to be held Aug. 5 along Lake Leota.

The event allows children ages 7 and older to go fishing with a sheriff's deputy.

The event will last from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and will be held in conjunction with the sheriff's office's National Night Out at Lake Leota Park.

Registration starts at 5 p.m. Aug.5. A parent or guardian must be present.

Parents or guardians should submit a letter including their child's name, age, address, and phone number to Sheriff Robert Spoden, 200 E. Highway 14, Janesville WI, 53545. Letters also can be submitted by email to sheriff@co.rock.wi.us.

The first 25 names eligible to participate will be contacted by phone or e-mail to confirm their selection.

Kids participating in the event will get an event T-shirt. Life jackets and fishing supplies will be provided during the event. Dinner also will be provided to participating kids, family, and volunteers.
