Midwest League: Snappers shut down Cougars

GENEVA, Ill.—The Beloit Snappers got back on the winning track Saturday night.

Matt Stalcup and two relievers combined on a four-hitter as Beloit shut out Kane County 7-0 in a Midwest League game.

First-round draft pick Matt Chapman had a double and a triple for the Snappers and drove in two runs. Stalcup improved to 2-3 thanks to five scoreless innings.

Games three and four of a five-game series are today.
