Kane County uses four home runs to beat Beloit

GENEVA, Illinois--The Kane County Cougars played home run derby against the Beloit Snappers on Friday night.

Ben Carhart hit two of the Cougars’ four home runs as Kane County buzzed Beloit, 6-2, in  a Midwest League game.

Beloit tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth on Luis Baez’s fifth home run of the season, but Kane County took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth.

B.A. Vollmuth also homered for Beloit, which fell to 5-15 in the second half.

Game two of the four-game series between the teams is tonight.
