Man with Rock County connection sentenced in federal court
MADISON--A former Rock County man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Madison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Wisconsin.
U.S. District Judge Lynn S. Adelman sentenced Brock Barrett, 42, Rockford, Ill., to six months in federal prison for escaping from a federal residential re-entry center. Barrett had pleaded guilty April 15.
Barrett was convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2008 in Illinois. He was sentenced to 85 months in federal prison.
Barrett was transferred to Rock Valley Community Program, a halfway-house in the town of Rock, in August 2013. He was reported missing that November and was later arrested in Rockford.
