Cory Broetzmann, age 41, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 15, 2014. Cory was born July 28, 1972, in Beaver Dam, WI, the son of Fay Broetzmann and Jeannie (Crouch) Nickel. He attended school in Mayville, and was a graduate of Mayville High School, Class of 1990. He later attended UW-Whitewater. For the past 10 years, Cory lived his dream of being part of the law enforcement family as a Dispatcher for the Rock County 911 Center, and was very passionate about his work there. He loved music, and could often be found writing or singing a song, as well as playing the piano or guitar. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Cory was known for his witty sense of humor and his ability to quote lines from TV shows and movies that he loved.

Cory is survived by his wife of 14 years, Micaela (Mobley) Broetzmann; his two children, Lacy and Cami; his mother, Jeannie Nickel; his father, Fay Broetzmann; his step-mother, Jill Schneiter; his siblings: R.C. (Julie) Schroeder, Brett Schroeder, Schelagh Dehler, and Mark (Amy) Broetzmann; his Grandma Nita; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cory's family would like to thank the Rock County 911 Center, Rock County Child Protective Services, and Faith Community Church for their love and support during this time!

A Memorial Visitation celebrating Cory's life will be held from 1 until 5 P.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES.
