MADISON—AFSCME Wisconsin PEOPLE Conference and AFSCME Council 24 have announced their endorsements of Rep. Janis Ringhand, D-Evansville, for the 15th Senate District.

Ringhand is running for the seat vacated by retiring Sen. Tim Cullen, D-Janesville. Austin Scieszinski and Mike Sheridan also are running in the Democratic primary Aug. 12.

AFSCME Wisconsin PEOPLE Conference is the political action committee of AFSCME Councils 40 and 48, which comprises local government and private sector employees. AFSCME Council 24 is the Wisconsin State Employees Union.

Together, the councils represent thousands of employees across Wisconsin.

“I believe one of the best ways to predict the future is to look at the past, and my legislative record on labor is crystal clear,” Ringhand said in a news release. “I have always stood with our brothers and sisters in labor, and I will never stop fighting for Wisconsin's working families.”

In addition, Ringhand has received several other endorsements.
