Trek recalls bikes for faulty forks
Trek Bicycle Corp. of Waterloo is recalling 120,000 bicycle forks on Trek-brand bikes after incidents were reported of the forks breaking and causing injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall involves 11 models of Trek bicycles manufactured in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
The CPSC said five injuries have been reported in connection with the broken forks, ranging from minor bruises to broken bones.
Customers can get a free repair of the problem in they take their bike to an authorized Trek dealer.
The SR Suntour front bicycle forks were manufactured in China and Taiwan for Trek and bicycles made by Scott USA Inc. of Idaho.
