Ruth Pauline Ballentine, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, peacefully at home with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Stoughton, WI, the daughter to the late Ellis and Lillian (Selvog) Johnson. She married Duane Ballentine Nov. 4, 1961, at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church. She was an avid Packer fan who looked forward every year to "Boating Season." Her favorite times were spent on her pontoon along with husband, Duane, as they took friends with and always the co-navigator, "Tasha", her beloved Maltese dog. She loved spending time with friends and her two grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Duane; two children, Renee Nottestad of Milton, and Daniel Ballentine of Edgerton; two grandchildren, Brittany Nottestad and Christopher Nottestad, both of Milton; three brothers: Roger (Linda) Johnson of Edgerton, Ron (Mary Ann) Johnson of Madison, and Richard Johnson of Edgerton; two sisters, Juanita (Norman) Noble of Novi, MI, and Emilie (James) Edgington of Janesville; and a special friend, Karen Ludtke of Milton. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: James, Larry, and Richard Dean; and a sister, Helen Sarver-Norris.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 2 until 5 p.m. at DUANE'S HOME, 1319 E. Mound Dr., Edgerton, with Jim Hitchcock officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Ruth's name.
