Make a pitch for your idea, business
STURTEVANT — Entrepreneurs, business owners, high school seniors and college students are invited to participate in the Racine/Kenosha FastPitch competition, slated for Aug. 20 at Gateway Technical College's SC Johnson integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center, 2320 Renaissance Blvd., Sturtevant.
The competition is an opportunity to deliver a three-minute pitch about a business or business concept to a group of judges from the business and investment community. The judges will evaluate each presentation on the first round, and 10 finalists will advance to the final round. The competition winner will receive $5,000.
The deadline to submit the presentation is July 30, and organizers recommend that participants attend a training class either Aug. 6 or Aug. 7.

Registrants will be notified by Aug. 1 if selected to present.
“The setting offers competitors the chance to refine their business focus, enhance their presentation skills, network with fellow entrepreneurs and connect with potential investors or individuals who can accelerate the realization of their idea or business,” according to a Gateway news release.
FastPitch is sponsored by Gateway Technical College, Eigerlabs, Kenosha Area Business Alliance, the Racine County Economic Development Corp., the State of Ingenuity and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
