Your Thanks: IDS is grateful to Quaker Steak & Lube
Scott Acker, franchise owner, developed this program in Middleton as a way to have a continuous effort to give back to local groups and organizations. As he continues to grow his franchise in Wisconsin, the MADM has become a part of the Wisconsin QS&L culture.
The program requires that 20 vouchers be turned in by customers throughout the day—11 a.m. to 11 p.m. In return, the nonprofit receives 5 percent of the day's sales (excluding alcohol, tax and gratuity.) The June 9 event earned IDS $250.
We are thankful to Scott for starting this wonderful program. It's special in that the restaurant donates a percentage of the entire day's sales, not just a percentage from the customers who turn in vouchers. This clearly gives nonprofits chances to earn significant amounts of money for their causes.
We would also like to thank Thom Christenson, manager, and Shelley Bell, marketing and activities coordinator at the Janesville QS&L for supporting the program and allowing IDS to participate. As a nonprofit, we rely heavily on donations and fundraisers to help expand our programs and services to children, adults and families affected by disabilities and special needs in Rock County.
We hope that everyone will support these events and help all the nonprofits that participate. And please, mark down Sept. 8, as IDS will participate in one more MADM this year.
