Milton announces first day of operation at new city building

MILTON—The first day of operation at Milton's new police department, City Hall and municipal court building at 710 S. Janesville St. is set for July 7, according to a city news release.

Work on the building and parking lot is nearly done as staff at the police department, 120 Parkview Drive, and City Hall, 430 E. High St., pack for a move. Inclement weather delayed work on the parking lot, according to the release.

Final equipment will be installed July 1 and 2.

The offices of City Hall, police department services and the municipal court clerk will be closed on July 3 and 4 as the city staff moves to the new building, according to the release.

The police department will remain fully operational for all emergency and non-emergency responses.

The public is welcomed to the new building on the July 7 operation date, but a public dedication and tour of the facility will be scheduled the first week of August.
