Man taken to hospital after driving into duplex

JANESVILLE—A Fort Atkinson man was taken to an a local hospital after he drove his car into a duplex Tuesday afternoon, according a Janesville Fire Department news release.

Aron Riley, 40, of 1531 N. Joyce Road, was choking on water while northbound on Pontiac Drive. He lost control of his car, hit the mailbox at 1917 N. Pontiac Drive, then hit the side of a duplex at 1925 N. Pontiac Drive, said Janesville Fire Department Shift Commander Scott Running.

The fire department responded at 1:36 p.m.

Riley, the only person in the car, was taken to St. Mary's Janesville Hospital for minor injuries, the release states.

No one was home at the duplex. The owner, Richard Radak of Lake Geneva, was contacted about the incident.

Damage includes a 4-by-6-foot hole in the side of the duplex. The remainder of the home remains intact and is structurally safe, according to the release.

Janesville Police Department also responded to the accident.
