September 18, 1958 - June 12, 2014

Timothy Herbert Erikson, 55, of Delavan Township, passed away Thursday morning, June 12, 2014. Tim was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Elkhorn, WI, to Herbert and Phyllis (Kaphengst) Erikson. He was a 1976 graduate of Williams Bay High School and served as a Teletype Repair Specialist with the Maintenance Troop, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army from 1982-1986, while stationed in Fulda, West Germany. He earned an Associate's Degree in Business Data Processing from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1988. He was a member of the Ingalls Koeppen Legion Post #102 of Walworth. In 1990, he married Cathy Bogyos from Burlington, WI, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva. His wife, Cathy, was his love, true companion and a part of everything Tim loved in life, including performing with his band, Neutral Zone, participating in Revolutionary War reenactments, taking long motorcycle trips, and learning sign language. They enjoyed their place in Black River Falls, on week-ends and during hunting season.

Tim grew up in Williams Bay, and has lived in Delavan Township, for many years. He was a loyal supporter of both school and community activities. He dedicated himself to learning many new things throughout his lifetime, earning a 4th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, learning American Sign Language to facilitate communication with staff and students at the Delavan School for the Deaf, where he worked, and mastering many instruments including keyboard, drums, guitar, bass guitar and harmonica. He enjoyed teaching himself new computer applications and technologies while also preserving and practicing Swedish family traditions. He took pleasure in his role as the favorite uncle who delighted in fun with his nieces and nephews.

In May of 2013, Tim suffered a stroke and for the last 13 months Tim and Cathy worked very hard with the Milwaukee VA Hospital on Tim's rehabilitation and therapy.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Phyllis (Kaphengst) Erikson of Williams Bay. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Boygos Erikson; a brother John (Michele) Erikson of Madison; two sisters, Marie (Steve) Kosier of Lakeville, MN, and Laura (Dean) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews including: John Henry, Will and Mary Erikson, Amanda and Erik Kosier, and Evvie and Kase Johnson, Ann, and Angela Ricchio, and Brandon Bogyos. He is also survived by his maternal uncle, Jim (Jill) Kaphengst of Black River Falls, WI; and several cousins.
