Your Views: Republican Party would take away your Social Security
On Wednesday, June 4, Mike Hanus states in his letter that economic growth comes when American families and small business work, save and invest.
Well I began working when I was 14 years old. In every paycheck, I paid into (invested) Social Security. That is why I’m now entitled to a monthly check from the government. I paid in; I’m not a so-called “taker.”
To me, a taker is one who takes money from a lobbyist. A politician comes to mind.
To be sure, if the Republican Party takes over the Senate, you can kiss your Social Security goodbye. This is just one of the programs Mr. Paul Ryan would love to do away with. Now I don’t know about you folks, but I need my Social Security.
So what is driving up our national debt? Could it be, say, wars we shouldn’t even be in? How about the billions we give away to other countries? Think about that one, and the list goes on, and on.
Keep in mind now, in wars there are also billions to be made for some folks.
