Wisconsin GOP questioning nomination papers of Ryan opponent
MADISON — The Republican Party of Wisconsin is challenging the nomination papers of a well-known Madison protester who is vying to unseat U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.
The complaint filed Thursday with the Government Accountability Board alleges Republican candidate Jeremy Ryan told people they were signing a petition to legalize marijuana.
The complaint says every page of Jeremy Ryan's nomination papers is invalid.
Jeremy Ryan disputes the claims made in the complaint by Republican Party Executive Director Joe Fadness.
Jeremy Ryan has dozens of misdemeanor charges mostly related to protests at the Capitol in the last three years. Most charges were dismissed.
The GAB is meeting Tuesday to verify all candidates on the ballot.
