JANESVILLE—Boaters are now free to roam the Rock River in Rock County without worrying about slow/no wake restrictions.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office announced the lifting of restrictions today.

The boat-speed restrictions are declared when the water is high. Water heights measured at Lake Koshkonong and at Afton have dropped to levels that allow the lifting of the restrictions, according to a press release.

The restrictions on the river downstream of Beloit-Rock Townline Road had been lifted previously.
