JANESVILLE—A Marshall Middle School student was injured in an accident on his way to school Tuesday morning, police said.

The 12-year-old was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on Pontiac Drive just south of Milwaukee Street at about 8:06 a.m. when a car pulled into a driveway in front of him, police said.

The bicycle hit the car's rear quarter panel, and the child flew over the handlebars. He suffered abrasions and was taken to St. Mary's Janesville Hospital. His injuries did not appear serious, police said.
